My homestay is located in one of the most beautiful parts of Montreal, on the riverside of Verdun, where students can walk, exercise or ride one of our 3 bicycles. The bus #58 stops at the corner of our street and arrives at the Metro de l'Eglise in 10 mins. This makes it easy to get to the downtown area of Montreal where most of the ESL schools and universities are located.
I have been hosting international students for more than twenty years - students from almost every country in the world - and therefore I have lots and lots of experience in this area. I have retired from McGill University so now I am able to spend more time with students, which I enjoy very much. I teach them and they teach me! English is the main language in my house but I also speak French. I am associated with many of the ESL schools in Montreal.
Students who have stayed with me have very often said that they feel like they are "at home" here. I believe that this is important because, if a student is happy and comfortable in his or her homestay, he or she will learn easier and quicker and therefore have the time to take advantage of all of the wonderful activities that we have available in our wonderful city of Montreal! All of this helps to make a student's visit to Montreal a complete one!
